Manual Single-use safety syringe
The initial flagship product of Safetymed is the Securetouch single use manual retractable safety syringe. This unique product was invented in Australia for both local and world markets, and has numerous worldwide patent applications (uncontested). It was specifically designed as a forerunner for the clean needle programs, and recently has been adapted to address the worldwide diabetes problem.
The Safetymed safety syringe is a true single-use device. The simple design makes it easy to use, and far less expensive than alternative retractable or safety syringe devices. The barrel of the sleeve with the syringe securely locked inside meets the strength requirement of a SHARPS container and can therefore be disposed of in normal medical waste. This reduces the need for expensive and often dangerous SHARPS disposal.
